The Sky Playout Team is responsible for delivering high-quality live sports and entertainment programs to customers 24/7, 365 days a year. Our team works in shifts, including day, mid, and night shifts, to ensure seamless channel delivery.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Broadcast Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the transmission of live complex events, schedule management, output monitoring, and first-line recovery for Sky-hosted channels. You will work closely with production teams to negotiate event durations and overlapping events.

Main Responsibilities
* Schedule preparation: Perform manual and automated tasks to identify potential errors and faults in playout schedules
* Live schedule management: Edit live automation schedules to alter content or timings as required
* Live schedule monitoring: Monitor channel outputs to confirm and maintain fault-free playout
* Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with Ofcom regulations and Sky policies
* Fault identification and recovery: Identify and recover from channel loss or degradation, using system resilience or schedule editing
* Escalation: Communicate effectively with 2nd line support teams and operational management
* Editorial knowledge: Understanding of Sky's programming and promotional strategies
* Logging and reporting: Accurately record faults, changes, or deviations from scheduled content
* Information management: Pass on information to colleagues or operational management to ensure channel continuity
* Communication: Provide concise and accurate verbal and written communication, professional and courteous at all times

Requirements
* Degree qualification or relevant vocational qualifications
* Experience in digital playout environments and complex live broadcast experience
* Leadership skills: Excellent communication, influencing, decision-making, and prioritization skills
