SEN Class Teacher

Easthorpe School is an independent specialist provision that caters to children and young people in the East Midlands who live with their families, foster carers or in residential children's homes. We opened our doors to pupils in 2022 and are expanding our team to support the increase in pupil numbers in the Lower School (7-13yrs) provision.
Our ApproachWe provide high-quality education, adopting a thoughtful and informed approach for each pupil. Our class sizes do not exceed six pupils and are supported by a qualified class teacher with up to two teaching assistants. We cater to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and various diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attachment needs, and mild/moderate learning needs.
Job Description- Responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons within the national curriculum while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
- Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviors.
- Report on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaise with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A strong basic education to degree level.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Previous successful Primary and SEND teaching experience.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
This role offers:
