Job Overview

A unique opportunity has arisen to join our 'Outstanding' Independent, trauma-centred therapeutic group of schools in Chelmsford, Essex. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Principal to lead our Primary setting, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other leaders and teachers to ensure the highest standards of education and therapy. This involves line managing teachers, developing strategies, and implementing best practices effectively. The role also encompasses contributing to staff briefings, training, and serving as Deputy DSL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the executive principal to maintain outstanding standards, aligning with ISS and Ofsted expectations.
  • To take a leading role in supporting the efficient organisation, timetabling, management, and supervision of the school.
  • To organise and manage the school and staff team efficiently.
  • To lead and manage behaviour positively, adhering to the school's policy.
  • To be a first point of senior contact for parents, visitors, staff, and pupils.
  • To establish positive, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified teacher status or relevant Degree-level qualification.
  • Successful teaching experience within a Primary setting supporting SEMH/SEN pupils.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Previous leadership experience within a challenging context.
  • Recent CP and Safer Recruitment training.
  • Experience of school development and improvement strategies.
  • Evidence of involvement in CPD activities related to SEMH/SEN.

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum.
