CV Library is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor, in the Belfast area. As Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures that ensure a safe working environment for all employees, eliminating/minimising risks, preventing workplace accidents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the organisation's operations.
- Ensure all safety policies comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and relevant standards.
- Coordinate health and safety program elements addressing site access, security, project induction, first aid, welfare, and emergency arrangements.
- Establish a process of active health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections of site conditions and contractor activities.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs ensuring all personnel are aware of their health and safety responsibilities.
- Report to the Project Manager and work closely with department managers and supervisors to ensure that health and safety protocols are integrated into daily operations.
- Hold a degree/qualifications in Health and Safety Management/NEBOSH.
- Have an updated understanding of health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines.
- Have strong knowledge of updated health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Be proficient in H&S software & tools.
