As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and growth of students with SEN. You will work closely with experienced teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and motivated to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to SEN students, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist students with academic tasks, such as reading, writing, and numeracy, adapting materials and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with students, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to track student progress and contribute to the assessment process.
  • Advance inclusion and diversity within the school community, celebrating each student's uniqueness.
  • Assist with personal care.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children or adults with SEN.
  • A caring and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, establishing rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in addressing the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
