We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Senior Biochemist Team Lead at the WGH Biochemistry Department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage laboratory services, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with national guidelines.

As a Band 7 Biomedical Scientist, this position requires significant experience in Biochemistry and related disciplines, with a strong focus on training and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical skills, maintaining ISO 15189 accreditation, and leading efforts to maximize service provision.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to work collaboratively with the implementation team to develop and integrate new LIMS systems within NHS Lothian Laboratories. This will involve driving innovation and excellence in our services, while ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, with requirements for out-of-hours participation to ensure a 24/7 service provision. We offer a competitive salary: £58,391 - £70,400 per annum, depending on experience, plus a generous benefits package.
