At University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW), we are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Thoracic Surgeon to join our Department of Thoracic Surgery.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced thoracic surgeon to develop their skills in minimal access major lung resection and other complex procedures. Our department provides a comprehensive thoracic surgical oncology service to the population of Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Wiltshire, and parts of Gloucestershire.

Main Responsibilities
  • To work closely with our six consultant thoracic surgeons to provide a high-quality thoracic surgical service
  • To assist in the development of advanced operative skills in minimal access major lung resection and other complex procedures
  • To contribute to the growth and success of our department through research, education, and innovation

Requirements
  • Experience in clinical thoracic surgery
  • Knowledge of clinical and basic sciences relevant to thoracic surgery
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension, health insurance, and flexible working arrangements.
