Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Alverton Community Primary School. The successful candidate will provide support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and work closely with the class teachers to deliver a broad range of activities that promote children's development and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to children with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that activities are tailored to meet the needs of children with SEN
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social interaction and emotional well-being among children
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of children with diverse learning requirements
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to engage in training and CPD opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
