Aerospace Coatings Technician

Key Responsibilities:- Conduct surface preparation and apply coatings to meet repair and material specification requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, health and safety procedures, quality procedures, and industry regulations.
- Complete all necessary documentation related to the work performed.
- Prepare surfaces by degreasing and blasting, and apply masking protection to non-coated areas.
- Mix and spray coating materials, checking viscosity and thickness as required.
- Inspect and ensure all equipment is safe and satisfactory to use, rectifying any unsafe conditions within your capability.
- Carry out curing operations as required.
- Adhere to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and all associated Business Manuals.
- Team Worker with excellent communication skills, able to interact fully with other team members.
- Ability to manage priorities in a busy working environment and follow a given production schedule.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to read, write, and carry out calculations accurately, with knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry advantageous.
- Ability to provide advice as a subject matter expert.
- Familiarity with the application of 2 Pack Epoxy, Phenolic Resin Type Varnish, Anti-Galling/Dry Film Lubricants, and Sermetel type coatings.
- Experience from an equivalent role in a similar industry.
- Ability to read and use precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read technical engineering drawings, both modern and older standards.
- Familiarity with metric and imperial measurement.
- Responsible individual who can build relationships with customers and suppliers, requiring full co-operation across and within other business departments.
- Recognised indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent.
- Human Factors.
- Previous experience within an aerospace MRO environment.
