Job Overview

A specialist education teacher is required to join our team at Austin Fraser. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to providing high-quality education to students with special needs.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified teacher to teach GCSE curriculum subjects to students aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will have experience in teaching students with special educational needs and a thorough understanding of the national GCSE curriculum.

Main Responsibilities

The specialist education teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing pupil progress, and providing regular feedback. They will also be expected to develop schemes of work for all year groups, prioritize reading to develop pupils' fluency, confidence, and enjoyment, and report on pupil progress in line with school policy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have Qualified Teacher Status, evidence of successful and recent teaching responsibility of the national GCSE curriculum, and a passion for teaching students with special educational needs. You will also need to have excellent communication skills, be able to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and be committed to ongoing professional development.

Salary
£30,000 - £45,000 per annum.
