About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Sue Ryder St John's Hospice as a Medical Secretary. As a key member of our administrative team, you will provide high-quality support to our consultants and clinical team, ensuring the smooth operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and circulate consultant and doctor on-call rotas, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Prepare and control documentation related to junior doctor rotation and medical student placements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize audio recordings and written documents to type patient assessment pathways, death and discharge summaries, outpatient clinic letters, general correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, leaflets, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Maintain diaries for doctors and consultants, booking meeting/training rooms and travel arrangements.
  • Respond efficiently to enquiries from patients, carers, and professionals, dealing with telephone enquiries and coordinating meetings and taking minutes.
Requirements
  • Excellent IT skills and audio typing skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent telephone manner and listening skills.
