About the Role:


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Academic Support Professional to work at one of our client Secondary schools in Sunderland.


As an Academic Support Professional, you will provide academic support to students across various subjects, helping them access the curriculum and make progress in their studies. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging lessons and provide tailored support to students who need additional assistance.


This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain valuable classroom experience, develop your teaching skills, and make a real difference in the academic journey of students.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to secondary school students in various subjects.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and supporting students with learning activities.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and create a positive, supportive learning environment.
  • Encourage students to stay focused and engaged with their work, offering additional help where needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources for lessons.

Requirements:



  • A recent graduate with a passion for education and supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with students and staff.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to assisting with learning and promoting student development.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable attitude towards students with varying learning needs.
