Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Administration Officer to join our team at Kent County Council. As a key member of our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Childrens Service, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our centres and the effective transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children to other local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day functioning of the centres, taking a proactive approach to ensure the smooth running of operations.
  • Support the team in receiving and responding to requests for support at an intensive level or above, ensuring that these are passed on to the most appropriate service for ongoing support and intervention.
  • Supervise staff and deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, demonstrating excellent IT and problem-solving skills.
  • Work under pressure in a fast-paced office environment, multi-tasking and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Excellent IT and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Confidence in dealing with professionals and members of the public on the telephone, with a high level of customer service skills.
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
