About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Psychologist Trainee to join our friendly and multi-disciplinary LD CAMHS team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your career and contribute to the delivery of high-quality psychological services to children and young people with learning disabilities.

The LD CAMHS team provides services to children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities who are experiencing mental health needs and/or displaying significant behavioural distress. Our team is part of the wider CAMHS service and has good links with other teams, including the Children and Young People's Intensive Support Team and the Disabled Children and Young People's Team.

As a Clinical Psychologist Trainee, you will have a balanced job plan that meets both the needs of the service and your own development. This will include contributing to initial assessment clinics, providing formulation-driven, evidence-based psychological therapies, and working with families and wider professional networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to initial assessment clinics and provide formulation-driven, evidence-based psychological therapies
  • Work with families and wider professional networks to support children and young people with learning disabilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the needs of children and young people
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive psychological services
Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist Trainee who has:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
