The OpportunityWe are seeking an ambitious and talented public law specialist to join our team. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the development of our Public Law offering and be part of an exciting journey. You will have the chance to work on diverse and challenging projects, collaborating with a nationally recognized public law solicitor. Your work will span across core public bodies, national charities, faith organizations, professional regulation, and the education sector.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of Public and regulatory law matters, including Human Rights, Freedom of Information, and EIR work.
- Judicial review and statutory appeals.
- Advising on investigation and statutory and non-statutory inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including other legal professionals, to deliver comprehensive legal services to clients.
- Supervise team members and provide guidance and support on matters as required.
- Effectively manage an individual caseload.
- Attend to clients of the Firm in the office or elsewhere as needed.
- Work in a collegiate and collaborative way within an immediate team and wider Firm environment.
- Communicate promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients.
- Maintain your continuing professional development requirements and take an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
- Actively participate in Business Development and Marketing initiatives.
- Carry out your work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the Firm's standards, procedures, and core values.
- Regularly attend and be involved in preparation for team meetings.
- Experienced Solicitor or Barrister (ideally 6 years + years experience would be desirable), however we would consider other individuals and experience as our focus is on finding the right individual for the role.
- A degree with a 2:1 classification or equivalent is preferred, although we welcome applications from candidates with diverse educational backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant skills or experience.
- Proven experience of public & regulatory advisory and litigation work.
- Management and leadership skills (can be demonstrated from private or professional context).
