Job Title: Head of Public Law Specialist

Job Summary:

Rayment Recruitment is seeking an experienced Litigation Director to lead and expand our Public Law case load, and help establish our Practice as a go-to firm for organisations that seek to make a positive and practical change to the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality legal advice and competently manage a caseload involving public and regulatory law;
  • Advise on legal and policy-related issues, and draft complex legal documentation;
  • Attend conferences and court, and seek new clients in the non-profit and charity sectors;
  • Delegate work and provide casework supervision to more junior fee earners, and other staff;
  • Line manage junior fee earners, and ensure their casework is conducted in an expert, compliant, financially sustainable, and impactful way;
  • Work with and for the communities we serve, and ensure our casework aligns with our firm's values and mission.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor with rights to practise in England and Wales;
  • Extensive experience in dealing with all Public Law related work, with expertise in Judicial Review;
  • Strong management skills, and previous proven supervisory experience;
  • Previous proven experience of working to key performance indicators;
  • Professional person with a proactive approach, excellent client care skills, and the ability to deal sensitively with vulnerable clients;
  • Excellent networking and communication skills, with the ability to successfully market our firm and generate new business.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: £55,000-£75,000 per annum, dependent on experience and expertise;
  • Generous benefits, including enhanced pension contribution and private medical insurance;
  • 25 days annual holidays plus public holidays;
  • 35 hours per week over 5 days;
  • Permanent contract, after completion of a four-month probationary period;
  • London office with flexibility for home working.
