About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of anaesthetic services within the trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide anaesthetic services to a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedics, and emergency surgery.
  • Develop and implement anaesthetic services to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives within the trust.
  • Participate in the teaching and training of junior anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects and studies within the trust.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Anaesthetist who has:

  • FRCA or equivalent qualification.
  • MBBS or Basic Medical Degree.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Experience in providing anaesthetic services to a variety of surgical specialties.
  • Ability to develop and implement anaesthetic services to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
