Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Care Manager

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Care Manager to lead our new children's home. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless opening and operational running of the home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the performance and progress of the children who live in the home, building effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Model good practice and adhere to our care policy, effectively leading your team to ensure enthusiastic morale and positivity among staff.
  • Act as the designated safeguarding lead, ensuring the safeguarding and high-quality care of all children and young people.
  • Assess and meet the needs of children, including care, social, health, diet, and exercise, as well as their pursuit of other activities and personal interests.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team approach to monitor and evaluate the implementation of individual care and support plans for children.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of suitable staffing, including on-call, rotas, night and sickness absence cover, and off-site excursions.
  • Monitor health and safety/maintenance of the environment and manage all data and recording processes within the home.
  • Promote equality, diversity, rights, and responsibilities of children and young people and staff in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Establish monitoring systems, including regular audits and reviews, and manage delegated budgets.
  • Recruit, appoint, support, train, and performance manage staff appropriately and according to all personnel procedures.

Requirements:

  • A minimum RQF Level 4 (QCF level 3) or above Children's Care Services qualification.
  • Current car driving license.
  • Recognised award in dealing with challenging behaviors (e.g., CPI, TeamTeach).
  • Ofsted approval as Registered Manager.
  • At least 2 years' significant management experience in a care setting within the past 5 years, at a standard assessed as 'GOOD' in all aspects of the job.
  • A minimum 4 years' experience of working effectively with children with learning difficulties/challenging behavior.
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with complex child protection procedures.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted inspection processes.
