Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Visitor to lead our Perinatal and Infant Mental Health team. As a Clinical Lead Health Visitor, you will play a key role in supporting the wider Health Visiting teams to deliver high-quality services to families and children in Barnet.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health service, ensuring it meets the needs of families and children in Barnet.
  2. Work closely with colleagues to deliver Universal Health Services to designated areas within the Barnet localities.
  3. Develop and deliver training programs to support staff in delivering high-quality services.
  4. Contribute to the development of the service and work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective universal health provision.
  5. Work alongside clinical specialists and others to ensure that training, support, protocols, and policy are embedded locally across the service.
  6. Develop and deliver a quality assurance framework relating to your specialist area of interest to ensure we are providing a safe, effective, and quality service.
Requirements
  • Health Visiting Professional Qualification, with entry onto the 3rd part of the NMC Register.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Perinatal mental health training.
  • Leadership modules (L6/7).
  • Parenting Programme facilitator course.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills: IT written and oral.
  • High levels of clinical skills, with the ability to identify, respond to, and evaluate health needs, including the delivery of public health programs.
  • Evidence of application of high levels of knowledge and skills relating to emotional and physical wellbeing from the transition to parent period.
  • Evidence of application of high levels of knowledge and skills relating to the issues and concerns experienced during the Perinatal Mental health.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge of current legislation and national guidance relating to peri-infant and maternal mental health.
  • Knowledge on how to apply audit and Quality Improvement methodology.
  • Knowledge and skills in managing change at an operational level.
  • Knowledge and skills of co-production.
  • Understanding of the safeguarding process and child protection procedures, clinical governance arrangements, and the ability to make decisions in these areas.

  • Ability to work as part of an integrated team working across organisational and professional boundaries.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Commitment to the development of excellent services, which focus on improved outcomes for children.
