Job Title: Senior Vehicle Technician

UTAC is a leading international group in digital and sustainable mobility, providing customisable testing solutions, vehicle engineering, homologation, regulatory advice, and certification. We operate test centres and laboratories in various locations worldwide, employing around 1300 people.

As a member of the UTAC Special Vehicles UK Team, this role involves delivering project work for UTAC Special Vehicles and providing global service and maintenance capability. We are a project-oriented business, working on various project types, from small volume modifications to larger volumes of Small Series Type Approved conversion activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work independently to modify vehicle systems to a high standard
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Team leaders, and Technician Supervisors to champion and lead small-scale production/prototype activities
  • Assist Production engineering to define processes for repeatable quality of output in a timely manner
  • Diagnose complex vehicle mechanical and electrical faults at component and harness/wiring level and conduct sanctioned rework to the required quality standard
  • Lead the strip, modification, and build of vehicles for the installation of bespoke in-vehicle electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
  • Produce reports to record inspection, maintenance, and repair activity, providing written and photographic evidence as required
  • Focus on continuous improvement, working with the engineering and production leadership teams to improve efficiency and quality during build
  • Lead health and safety standards and behaviours
Requirements:
  • SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in UK for last 5 years)
  • Full UK driving license including C1 classification
