Job Title: Senior Field Technician

As a member of the UTAC Special Vehicles UK Team, this role involves delivering project work for UTAC Special Vehicles and providing global service and maintenance capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support various projects in the development and build of prototype vehicles, as well as series production activity.
  • Conduct support, inspection, maintenance, and repair activity of Special Vehicles products around the world.
  • Diagnose complex vehicle mechanical and electrical faults at component and harness/wiring level, and conduct and direct appropriate sanctioned rework to the required quality standard.
  • Lead the strip, modification, and build of vehicles for the installation of bespoke in-vehicle electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
  • Produce reports to record inspection, maintenance, and repair activity, providing written and photographic evidence as required.
  • Foster continuous improvement by working with the engineering and production leadership teams to improve efficiency and quality during build.
Requirements:
  • Broad knowledge of maintenance processes, policies, capabilities, practices, support resources, and other elements required to effectively represent the business when overseas.
  • Experience conducting maintenance operations and inspections in an MoD Equipment Support environment would be beneficial.
  • Experience in the automotive field with prototype vehicle modification and repair required.
  • MOT tester certified, or equivalent.
  • Flexible and adaptable to new situations.
  • MS Office literate.
  • Desire to provide excellent service and produce best-in-class results.
  • Full UK driving license including C1 classification.
