Job Description

This role has been created to develop talent, and it is ideal for a Commercial underwriter with a minimum of 2 years of underwriting experience in SME Commercial lines. Your career development is a certainty if you possess a mutual desire to progress and excel in a fast-paced business environment.

You will be responsible for underwriting general commercial accounts, mainly renewals, and providing support on new business quotations as your role evolves. You will work closely with a unique panel of supporting broker offices across the UK, handling premiums ranging from SME to circa £40k.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Renewal underwriting for an allocation of accounts
  • Support the new business process, and as you gain more experience, potential to become a focal point
  • Manage day-to-day underwriting queries, ensuring a high-quality service to the supporting broker offices
  • Engage with risk management initiatives where appropriate

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of Commercial underwriting experience - whether with an insurer, MGA, or under a Delegated Authority
  • Cert CII is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills, as much of this role is about positive attitude and endeavour
  • Strong attention to detail, to ensure high standards of underwriting are maintained
