**About the Role:**

We are seeking a skilled Medical Equipment Technician to join our Transformation Unit in Macclesfield.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and inspecting used medical devices from various departments within the Trust. They will also decontaminate and disinfect soiled medical devices in accordance with our operating procedures.

In addition, they will perform daily routine checks on HSDU processing equipment and facilities. This will involve packing, labeling, and preparing medical devices and associated documentation for sterilisation, following our established procedures.

Person Specification: Qualifications

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
  • A relevant qualification such as an IDSc Technical Certificate or NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Decontamination is required.

Knowledge

  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with Decontamination Services, processes, and procedures is essential.

Skills

  • The ability to demonstrate manual dexterity is required.
  • The ability to read small print (2mm) is necessary.
  • The ability to follow procedures accurately is essential.
