Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Device Technician - Decontamination to join our team at East Cheshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our HSDU department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of decontamination and sterilisation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and inspect used medical devices from various departments within the trust, adhering to our operating procedures.
  • Decontaminate and disinfect soiled medical devices according to our protocols.
  • Perform routine checks on processing equipment and facilities to maintain quality standards.
  • Pack, label, and prepare medical devices for sterilisation, following our procedures.
Person Specification:
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • IDSc Technical Certificate or NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Decontamination or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of decontamination services, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity and read small print (2mm).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

As a Medical Device Technician - Decontamination, you will work closely with our team to ensure seamless operations and contribute to maintaining high-quality patient care.
