Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is dedicated to fostering a culture of equality and diversity within our workforce, and we are committed to eliminating unlawful discrimination. Our goal is to create a truly representative workforce, where each employee feels respected and valued, and where they can give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

NHS Lothian serves a population of 903,000, delivering a range of primary care, community-based, mental health, and acute services. We also provide nationally commissioned specialist services for the whole country, as well as regional services to populations ranging from 1.4m to 2.5m. Our strategic partnerships with local Universities, local authorities, and our four Integration Joint Boards enable us to optimise our services and improve outcomes for patients.

We aim to improve public health, maximise outcomes for patient experience, ensure clinical effectiveness, and continue to transform the way we do things. Building on the success of our approach to quality management, we are developing our role as an Anchor Institution. This involves driving innovation, improvement, and integration, and ensuring that our organisation remains at the forefront of healthcare delivery.

We are a values-driven organisation with an ambitious transformational change programme linked to our strategic development framework. This programme is designed to attract the best talent, and we are looking for someone who embodies the qualities of collective, compassionate, and inspirational leadership. Ideally, you will be an experienced HR Director within health and care or have worked at a similar level in a large, complex organisation.

You will need to be attuned to the demands of regulation and public scrutiny, and understand how integrated health and care systems operate. It is essential that you can build trust across all stakeholders, and have a natural ability to lead and motivate our people. Your strategic vision and courage to act decisively will be crucial in ensuring that NHS Lothian remains a great place to work.

In terms of salary, we can offer a competitive package, commensurate with your experience. As this is a senior leadership role, we anticipate a salary in excess of £80,000 per annum. However, this will be confirmed during the selection process.

The assessment process will take place in November, with selection interviews scheduled for early December. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates, and look forward to welcoming you to NHS Lothian.

We are an equal opportunities employer, and welcome applications from all sections of society. Our aim is to create a diverse and inclusive workforce, where every employee can thrive and contribute to our success.
