About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetics Consultant to join our team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our Anaesthetics department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, progressive, and professional Anaesthetic services in a broad range of surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with existing Anaesthetists to provide a high-quality Anaesthetic service
  • Participate in theatre work, pre and post-operative visiting, emergency work, outpatient pre-assessment activities, and administration
  • Contribute to training, medical education, continuous professional development, formal teaching, audit, clinical management, and local clinical governance activities
Requirements
  • Primary medical degree registrable in the UK
  • On the GMC's Specialist Register or entry expected within 6 months from the date of interview
  • Relevant CCT or equivalent
  • FRCA or equivalent
  • Experience of working in an NHS hospital
  • Full GMC Registration and licensable
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Wide experience in all aspects of Anaesthesia
  • Experience in Bariatric and/or Preassessment
  • Evidence of research experience and published work
  • Ability to teach clinical skills to medical staff/students and other disciplines
  • An understanding of the current NHS environment, particularly in relation to reforms, initiatives, and issues
