NFU Communications and External Affairs Graduate Programme


We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious graduate to join our award-winning Communications and External Affairs team. As an NFU Communications and External Affairs Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, including political lobbying, public campaigning, national media management, event management, and multi-channel communications.


Our graduate programme offers a comprehensive development programme, with placements in both Warwickshire and London, allowing you to gain valuable experience working in one of the most important industries in the country - farming, which supplies the raw ingredients for the UK's largest manufacturing sector, UK food and drink.


About the Role:



  • You will be responsible for supporting the Communications and External Affairs team in delivering a range of high-profile political campaigns, influencing public opinion, and protecting and promoting the reputation of British food and farming and the NFU in the media.
  • You will work closely with our in-house team to develop your knowledge and skills, and contribute to the success of the organisation through innovative ideas and solutions.
  • You will also have the opportunity to engage with NFU members, understand their needs, and communicate the NFU's message effectively.

What You'll Bring:



  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree or equivalent industry-related qualification.
  • The drive and determination to succeed both individually and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving, planning skills, and a flair for communication.
  • The desire to represent and campaign on behalf of NFU members and further your career in a communications or external affairs role.

Salary: £25,500 per annum.
