This is a unique opportunity to join BAE Systems as a Principal Commissioning Engineer RTS Mechanical and contribute to one of the largest and most complex engineering programmes in the UK.

You will lead test and commissioning activities, de-conflicting tasks, briefing teams and overseeing work for the new design of the reactor plant.

As a key member of the Commissioning team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and mentor less experienced engineers to help achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead test and commissioning activities, de-conflicting tasks, briefing teams and overseeing work.
  • Deputise for relevant Commissioning Project Leader as and when required, including supervision of personnel on shift.
  • Liaise/Interface with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Instruct and mentor less experienced members of the team with your knowledge and competency.

Requirements:

  • Experience of Commissioning or maintaining mechanical systems in a highly regulated industry (Oil, Gas or Nuclear).
  • Knowledge of safety controls and procedures in a high-risk environment.
  • Understanding of the role and how the T&C contributes to the wider business and UK enterprise.
  • Ability to understand complex Mechanical Systems (Drawings, diagrams, and procedures).
