Deputy Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Service at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to young people aged 12-18 with acute emotional, psychological, and behavioural difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a leader and role model to the nursing team, providing guidance and support under the supervision of the Ward Manager.
- Complete clinical audits and contribute to governance processes to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence, including chairing meetings and undertaking management roles.
- Manage HR systems, including staffing, sickness, performance-related issues, and annual leave reporting.
- Provide clinical and safeguarding supervision and mentor junior staff and students.
- Complete a 5-day Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and implement best practices in the workplace.
- Work shifts over a 365-day basis, including night duty, and undertake assessments of clients' needs and support nurses in formulating individual care plans.
- Ensure effective communication with relatives and carers of service users and maintain the safety and welfare of staff, patients, and the ward.
