We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our National Supply Chain Management team as a Sustainability Project Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our Global Sustainability Strategy and play a key part in shaping the future of Aldi globally.
Key Responsibilities- Support the National Supply Chain Manager in the delivery of projects to reduce Aldi's operational environmental impact.
- Ensure deadlines are met and projects are delivered on time.
- Monitor and measure progress of internal and external sustainability trials and activities across Aldi UK and Ireland.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure effective communication.
- Develop and implement business cases to support sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver our sustainability strategy end-to-end.
- Monitor market-wide technological advances and competitor activity in the relevant areas of sustainability.
- Prepare and present reports to stakeholders on sustainability performance.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of sustainability, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines, and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and analyze challenges and offer solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and resilient approach to workload demands.
- Starting salary from £36,080 - £42,135.
- Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working.
- 5 weeks' annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
