About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering complex engineering projects and leading a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions to complex problems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks, and to develop and implement project plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, and contribute to the development of engineering best practices.
  • Ensure that all engineering activities are carried out in accordance with Babcock's health, safety, and environmental policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Holds or has the ability to obtain Chartered status.
  • Proven experience of leading a team and delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
