About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trauma Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior surgeon to contribute to the delivery of high-quality trauma care and develop their expertise in this specialist area.

The successful candidate will be based at the University Hospital of Wales and will undertake dedicated research sessions in trauma, as well as providing middle-grade cover for clinical sessions and being on call for trauma along with specialist trainees (daytime only).

The University Hospital of Wales is a busy trauma centre and provides tertiary referral service for spinal trauma, pelvic and acetabular trauma, and complex limb trauma.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 15,000 staff and providing over 100 specialist services across six hospital sites.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • FRCS/MRCS
  • ATLS Provider
