Greyhound Homing Coordinator Job Description

As a Greyhound Homing Coordinator at Entain, you will play a crucial role in positioning and delivering the Greyhound Welfare Strategy across our Ladbrokes Coral greyhound stadia. Reporting to the Head of Stadia - Commercial, you will be part of the Racing team, responsible for ensuring the integrity of greyhound racing at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the Ladbrokes Coral Stadia in positioning and delivering the agreed Greyhound Welfare strategy
  • Responsible for day-to-day evaluations of policy and strategy adherence at all Ladbrokes Coral stadia and licensed trainers attached to tracks
  • Collaborates with all support teams to ensure the Ladbrokes Coral tracks are always compliant with all regulatory, welfare, and integrity requirements
  • Administers, enforces, and recommends modifications to the Greyhound Welfare Strategy and Homing and Affiliation Scheme
  • Creates and publishes a 'live' record of greyhounds entering retirement to ensure fair placement into rehoming centres
  • Establishes and maintains Entain's partnerships with homing centres as part of the Homing and Affiliation Scheme, particularly with a view to increasing capacity
  • Liaises with welfare organisations and charities involved in the homing of greyhounds and/or the welfare of greyhounds
  • Liaises with organisations outside the industry to promote greyhounds as pets
  • Liaises with veterinary practitioners in the preparation of greyhounds for homing
  • Provides education and information to the public and to industry participants regarding best practice in greyhound welfare, including homing
  • Identifies short, middle, and long-term recommendations to ensure the evolution of the company's Greyhound Welfare Strategy and policies within
  • Ensures the Stadia Leadership and Management teams are educated and prepared to implement new or changes to the Greyhound Welfare Strategy
  • Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure cooperation for information, advice, and appropriate action
  • Oversees investigations into breaches of policies and procedures and reports to the Head of Stadia - Commercial, all instances and outcomes
  • Collaborates with the Head of Stadia - Operations and our Stadia Managers to ensure delivery of our Greyhound Welfare strategy across all Greyhound tracks
Requirements:
  • Animal welfare experience essential
  • Expert in animal welfare policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to influence at all colleague levels
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain networks within an organisation and external stakeholders
  • Solution-focused and able to demonstrate an ability to recommend short, middle, and long-term initiatives
  • Organised with a structured methodology to ways of working to deliver to milestones and deadlines
  • Experience/knowledge in the area of pet homing
