Job Description

Neo Environmental Ltd, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecological Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients.

About the Role

  • Undertake ecological surveys, including Phase 1/Fossitt habitat surveys and IVC's, protected species scoping surveys, and bat surveys.
  • Produce comprehensive reports, including preliminary ecological appraisals, ecological impact assessments, EIA chapters, biodiversity management plans, protected species reports, and Appropriate Assessments/Natura Impact Statements.
  • Liaise with clients and statutory consultees, attending client and site meetings as required.
  • Undertake ECoW role where necessary.
  • Provide line management and team leadership duties for the Ballymena office.

Requirements

  • Degree in ecology or a related field.
  • Significant professional report writing experience.
  • Good knowledge of Irish ecological legislation and regulations.
  • Experience of Phase 1/Fossitt habitat surveys and IVC's.
  • Technical competence.
  • Ability to produce reports for clients, requiring attention to detail, reliability, and good organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to travel across NI and ROI with occasional overnight stays.
  • Full driving license and own transport.

Desirable Criteria

  • CIEEM accreditation.
  • Demonstrable postgraduate experience in ecology surveys.
  • Ornithology experience.
  • Bat survey experience.
  • GWDTE experience.
  • Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW) experience.
  • Knowledge or experience using ArcGIS or similar.
  • Other protected species survey experience and licenses.
