Job Overview:

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Architect to work on a 6-month contract from their major site in Stevenage.

This role requires a skilled engineer to lead the delivery of the missile mechanical architecture requirements, ensuring compliance with Airframe TRS for missile certificate of design.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to mechanical design, considering factors such as static & dynamic analysis, design for environment, and thermal management
  • Managing interfaces between various teams, including mechanical, thermal, and aerodynamics
  • Coordinating with customers to understand their expectations and requirements
  • Leading a team of engineers to achieve project goals, while controlling assigned budgets and managing personal workload
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for modularity and reuse

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on missile design
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to write and present complex information effectively
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe
