Head of Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Lead

We are seeking a seasoned quality professional to lead our quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing quality functions across multidisciplinary teams in regulated industries, such as transport, power, defence, and nuclear.
About the Role:
The Head of Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Lead will be responsible for developing and executing a quality management strategy aligned with ISO standards and regulatory requirements. This high-level role ensures our projects consistently meet or exceed client expectations in critical sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of quality performance across all projects, ensuring quality from design and manufacturing to installation.
- Leadership in the development and implementation of a robust Quality Management System, meeting BS-EN-ISO-9001 requirements and reducing quality-related costs.
- Development and maintenance of an Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Rigorous quality assurance frameworks for both manufacturing and installation, driving quality across all stages of project delivery.
- Collaboration with clients to align project delivery with their quality expectations.
- Ensuring supplier and subcontractor compliance with internal quality standards.
- Management, training, and mentorship of a team of quality professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
- Engagement with department heads to embed quality practices into project management, production, and operational workflows.
- Driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and addressing any quality concerns proactively during the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Chartered Quality Professional (CQP) certification
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
- Proven leadership in managing quality functions across multidisciplinary teams in regulated industries (transport, power, defence, nuclear)
- Strong analytical abilities with experience in quality management software and modern quality control tools
- Skilled at managing multiple projects and implementing KPIs and performance metrics to guide quality teams
- Excellent communicator, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum + benefits
