About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our Eye Care Support Service at Royal United Hospital, Bath. As an Eye Care Liaison Officer, you will play a vital role in providing critical emotional support, information, and guidance to individuals affected by sight loss.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to patients, family members, and carers, empowering them to maintain their independence.
  • Develop positive working relationships with healthcare professionals, statutory, and third sector organisations to establish and maintain referral routes.
  • Provide basic visual awareness training to eye clinic staff and others as required.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, adhering to GDPR and information governance policies.
  • Engage patients and their families to gather feedback on the ECLO service, contributing to continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in delivering information and advice services, preferably in a health, social care, or community setting.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering person-centred support to customers and their family and carers.
  • Advanced communication skills, including influencing other professionals across health, social care, or community services.
  • IT literacy with experience of working with Office 365 and bespoke systems, adhering to GDPR information governance policies.
