About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Older Adult Liaison Team in Bath. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and care to older adults in the acute general hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offering mental health assessments and care to older adults with complex mental health issues
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support
  • Providing education and clinical supervision to registered and unregistered staff
  • Representing mental health services within the general hospital
  • Effective liaison and communication with patients, relatives, carers, primary health care and secondary mental health services

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse (RMN) current NMC registration or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of safety assessments and management in relation to suicide and suicide prevention
  • Knowledge of MHA, MCA, DOLS
  • Knowledge in key areas of Liaison psychiatric nursing including the psychological effects of physical illness
  • Knowledge of delirium and dementia care pathways
