About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Estimator to join our team at Galliford Try within our Telecoms Business.

The ideal candidate will be based in or around the Leicestershire area and will have extensive experience of estimating from first principles within the relevant market sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inputting a tender win strategy for each individual tender, actively engaging and developing long-term relationships with key supply chain organisations, and identifying opportunities for margin growth, risks, and producing the associated risk register.

They will also participate in post-tender interviews, presentations, and negotiations with clients, ensure the successful handover to delivery teams following award, and develop innovative approaches to differentiate the bid from competitors.

About You:

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Extensive experience of estimating from first principles within the relevant market sectors
  • Ability to challenge bid team constructively
  • Strong commercial acumen and good analytical skills
  • Collaborative attitude
  • Understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in risk management techniques
  • High level of commercial awareness and technical knowledge
  • Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures
  • Track record of success in supporting a major contract or Business Unit and/or providing support to a professional function
  • Proven Estimating experience
  • Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
