About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bid Estimator to join our team in the Telecoms Business. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing tender win strategies, engaging with key supply chain organisations, and identifying opportunities for margin growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inputting tender win strategies for individual tenders
  • Developing long-term relationships with key supply chain organisations
  • Identifying opportunities for margin growth and producing associated risk registers
  • Participating in post-tender interviews, presentations, and negotiations with clients
  • Developing innovative approaches to differentiate bids from competitors
  • Collating targeted feedback on successful projects and providing advice for future tenders
  • Preparing submission documents in line with bid and corporate requirements
  • Attending tender settlement meetings and completing tenders as instructed
  • Developing standard pricing templates for use in bid pricing
  • Collaborating with other parts of the company to compile pricing and benchmarking data

About You:

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Extensive experience of estimating from first principles within the relevant market sectors
  • Ability to challenge bid teams constructively
  • Strong commercial acumen and good analytical skills
  • Collaborative attitude
  • Understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in risk management techniques
  • High level of commercial awareness and technical knowledge
  • Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adherence to company health and safety policy and procedures
  • Track record of success in supporting a major contract or Business Unit and/or providing support to a professional function
  • Proven estimating experience
  • Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A member of a relevant Professional Body and/or relevant qualification is desirable, but not essential for this role
