Job Title: Acute Medicine Consultant NHS

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our Emergency Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert medical care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other support staff, to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of our Emergency Medicine services, including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in education and training activities, including teaching and mentoring junior staff.
Requirements:
  • CCT or equivalent in Acute Medicine or a related specialty.
  • Full GMC registration and a valid license to practice.
  • FRCEM or equivalent certification.
  • Valid ATLS, ALS, or APLS certification.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Subspecialty training in Paediatrics or Prehospital EM.
  • Instructor status in ALS, ATLS, or APLS.
  • Other relevant postgraduate qualifications, such as DipIMC.
Personal Qualities:
  • A shared ethos and values with the health board.
  • Flexibility, personal integrity, and a willingness to work cohesively in the ED team.
  • Commitment to the importance of respect and dignity for all individuals.
Communication and Language Skills:
  • High standards of verbal and written English.
  • Welsh speaker or willingness to learn Welsh.
