About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Visual Operations Coordinator to join our team at News UK. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the visual output of our multiCAM System, ensuring seamless live feeds from news agencies, and coordinating the sourcing, booking, and delivery of live feeds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall visual output from our multiCAM System, ensuring high-quality content is delivered to our audiences.
  • Monitor live feeds from news agencies, flagging and requesting as necessary to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Coordinate the sourcing, booking, and delivery of live feeds, working closely with our production team to ensure smooth execution.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of video systems and servers, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Train and schedule the visual operations team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Ensure best practices are adhered to by our multiCAM operators, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Track and report technical issues to our engineering department, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing disruption to our operations.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between video editors and visual production teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Oversee the effective media management and logging of video content, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking and retrieval.
  • Attend daily morning editorial conferences, keeping the wider team informed and up-to-date on key developments and issues.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise, working closely with our engineering team to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Develop strategic plans for current and future workflows, ensuring our operations remain efficient, effective, and aligned with our business goals.
  • Ensure continuity and consistency across all aspects of our schedule, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Firm grasp of technology used in visual production, with experience in coordinating and managing visual content.
  • Knowledgeable about the production process and Adobe Creative Cloud, with a strong understanding of broadcast systems and cloud-based asset management systems.
  • A great 'can-do' attitude, with the ability to think on your feet and respond quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and with tight deadlines, maintaining a high level of professionalism and composure in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong working relationships across departments and with external agencies, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
