Education Support Assistant Job Description

We are seeking an Education Support Assistant to join our team of Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Chesterfield. As an Education Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to provide support and guidance to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students during lessons.
  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans, promoting a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior, maintaining high standards of discipline and focus.
  • Assist students as needed and ensure safeguarding policies are followed.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Confidence and enthusiasm when working with secondary-aged students.
  • Prior experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
  • Adaptability and ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and safe learning environment.
