Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Relationship Manager to join our team at Hdfc Bank. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our customers in the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sourcing and Business Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the agricultural sector, including sourcing proposals from individual farmers, cooperatives, and rural markets.
  2. Relationship Building and Maintenance: Develop and maintain strong relationships with our customers, including liaison with new and existing customers, and addressing complaints in a timely manner.
  3. Delinquency / Rotation & Recovery / Housekeeping: Work towards minimal delinquency in portfolio, monitor rotation of accounts, and ensure submission of documents to avoid dropping of limit in customers' accounts.
  4. Farmer Education and Capacity Building: Conduct village-level farmer meetings and educate farmers on various products offered by the bank.
  5. Increased Penetration and Cross Sell: Cross-sell of other assets and liability products, and promote digital platforms like NetBanking, Mobile Banking, and PayZapp.
  6. Training and Development of SO/HBL: Utilize sales resources (HBL/SO) for optimal sales support, monitor performance, and counsel them for delivery.
  7. Relationship with Retail Branches and Other Stakeholders: Liaise with Credit to ensure timely decisioning of proposals and closure of Housekeeping items, and coordinate with local Operations team for disbursement.
Requirements
  • Sales and Influencing Skills: Proven sales and influencing skills, with ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Banking Product & Process Knowledge: Strong knowledge of banking products and processes, including agricultural finance.
  • Planning and Organizing Skills: Ability to plan and organize work effectively, with strong time management skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Competition & Current Trends in Financial Industry: Knowledge of competition and current trends in the financial industry, with ability to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Experience

Minimum experience of 1-3 years in a similar role or sales experience in seed companies, fertilizer companies, agri-product companies, banks, etc. Preferred from banking/financial services.

  • Customers: Existing and potential customers in the agricultural sector.
  • Credit: Credit team responsible for decisioning of proposals.
  • Branch Banking: Branch banking team responsible for disbursement.
  • Operations: Operations team responsible for processing of transactions.
  • Farmers: Individual farmers and cooperatives in the agricultural sector.
  • Agro Centres/Rural Mandis/Rural Markets/Kisan Clubs: Agro centres, rural mandis, rural markets, and kisan clubs in the agricultural sector.
  • Business Correspondent: Business correspondent responsible for facilitating transactions.
  • Senior Leaders from Product/Sales: Senior leaders from product and sales teams responsible for strategy and direction.
  • Audit: Audit team responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • HR: HR team responsible for employee management and development.
