About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Rail Operator at South Western Railway. As a key member of our station team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our trains and stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of our customers by maintaining a safe and secure environment at our stations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their journeys and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Work closely with train staff and other colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our trains and stations.
  • Dispatch trains from the platform, ensuring all customers are clear of the train and the correct signal is showing.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of our network, including key destinations, attractions, and London transport.
Requirements
  • Able to travel to your location of work within 60 minutes, for all shift times.
  • Organized and efficient, with the ability to cope with repetitive tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk to anyone.
  • Passionate about doing the right thing, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Competent in the use of technology, with the ability to use our systems and tools effectively.
  • Able to distinguish colours with normal colour vision.
Working Pattern

We operate 24/7, and as a key member of our station team, you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. On average, you will work 7.25 hours per week.
