About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Boots. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for greeting volunteers, verifying their details, and taking health measurements and venous blood samples while maintaining the integrity of all participant information and blood samples.

Main Duties

• Greet participants and verify their details
• Explain the phlebotomy procedure to participants
• Perform clerical duties such as managing appointment booking processes for the phlebotomy service
• Take various participants' measurements, such as height, weight, and waist circumference
• Take and maintain venous blood samples from participants according to UK guidelines
• Maintain quality of service delivery by following Standard Operating Procedures and adhering to health and safety standards
• Ensure samples are prepared for delivery to the correct laboratory within required timescales
• Order and maintain adequate stock of requisite materials needed to deliver the service
• Communicate with the in-store Pharmacist and the pharmacy team to assure safe and appropriate provision of the service

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist is desirable, but we will consider applicants without experience and provide full training
• Ability to work calmly under pressure
• Empathetic, approachable, and able to interact sensitively
• Digitally savvy and comfortable with embracing technology
• A passion for customer care and working in Healthcare
• Ability to work as part of a busy team
• Prepared to learn and be comfortable in completing a Healthcare training Programme at NVQ2 or equivalent
