Job Overview

This role is based in a mixed primary and secondary SEN school in Blackpool, catering for children with a wide range of special educational needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with and supporting children with SEN.


About the Role

The successful candidate will support and guide pupils in their learning journey through fun play, sensory play, and continuous provisions. They will liaise with the class teacher to ensure they are in line with each child's EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan) and to maximise each child's progression and potential.


Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with SEN in their learning journey
  • Liaising with the class teacher to develop individualised plans
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Establishing supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
  • Planning and implementing learning activities for individuals and groups under the supervision of the teacher

Requirements
  • Patience and communication skills with children
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of individual pupils
  • Passion for working with children with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

What We Offer

A competitive hourly rate of £12.90 per hour depending on experience and additional duties. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, starting as soon as possible. Term-time only.
