Support Worker for Families

As a Support Worker for Families, you will be visiting families in their homes on a weekly basis to provide emotional support and encouragement. You will develop a strong relationship with the family and help them to explore and come up with their own solutions to challenges they may be facing. This could involve reading to children, helping with household tasks, or simply being a listening ear.
You will be asked to commit to supporting the family through weekly visits of 2-3 hours for a period of 6 months. You will also be required to travel to and from the volunteer's home/meeting place and complete a Volunteer Visit Record Form after each visit.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience of working with families or children, either as a parent or carer yourself or in a professional capacity. You will receive full training to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to make a positive impact on the lives of these families.
