At Volunteer Centre Harlow, we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Family Support Volunteers. This rewarding role involves visiting families in their homes, providing emotional support and encouragement to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

We require volunteers who are committed to supporting families for a period of six months, visiting once a week for 2-3 hours. Travel arrangements will be made to ensure visits can take place at the family's home or designated meeting point. Following each visit, volunteers will need to complete a record of their interactions with the family.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of working with families or children, either as a parent or carer, or through professional experience. You will also receive comprehensive training to equip you with the necessary skills to make a lasting impact on the lives of the families you work with.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Visit families in their homes once a week for 6 months.
  2. Provide emotional support and guidance to help families overcome challenges.
  3. Complete a record of each visit to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with families or children.
  • Ability to commit to regular visits for 6 months.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
