Hygiene Shift Manager

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hygiene Shift Manager to join our team at Taiko. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation across our factory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the BRC Technical Standard in your area of responsibility, ensuring daily compliance.
  • Take ownership of your responsibilities and ensure that your team clearly understands their daily tasks and objectives.
  • Create a positive working environment within your team, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Report daily issues, including personnel matters, to your supervisors in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure that all staff understand and follow all procedures throughout the factory, maintaining a high level of quality and safety.
  • Take ownership of the duties in your assigned area, including machinery maintenance, personnel training, and technical requirements.

Shift Hygiene Team Leadership:

  • Lead the shift Hygiene Team as the first line Hygiene Team Leader, ensuring the completion of hygiene schedules and maintaining a high standard of factory and environmental hygiene.
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards are implemented, maintained, and improved.
  • Support the engineering function in routine preventative maintenance and cleaning, and the production function in line set up/line start up post deep cleaning and maintenance.
  • Continually re-evaluate hygiene standards, cleaning procedures, practices, and equipment to ensure they align with best practice, customer guidelines, and legislation.
  • Develop and train the site hygiene activities with the Hygiene Members to maximize their potential, flexibility, and overall skill levels across the factory.
  • Meet with suppliers to optimize chemical cleaning and equipment, ensuring optimum comfort in use for staff and effectiveness for the job.
  • Ensure effective communication of factory hygiene standards across and between shifts within the teams, achieving optimum performance.
  • Develop close working relationships with colleagues in other functions, such as production, engineering, quality, and NPD.
  • Respond to audit reports and corrective action summaries, ensuring work is carried out to an agreed timescale and manner.
  • Present documentation to support the Hygiene Operation, including Chemical Data Sheets, Training Records, and completion/sign off back to production records.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of customer audits/visits, ensuring the team is clear on what is required of them.
  • Ensure all work conforms to the processes and procedures of the 'Quality Management System' and 'Health and Safety Management System'.
  • Support the Head of Technical as required.
